FAQ'S

Here are some of our most common questions we receive about window tinting

FAQ'S

What is window film?

Window films are constructed from a polyester substrate with a scratch-resistant coating. One side features a mounting adhesive that secures the film to the glass. Window films can be used for residential and commercial purposes to limit visible sunlight, protect furnishings from harmful UV rays, reject solar energy, retain heat during the winter, and secure windows from blasts or breakage.

How is window film applied?

Window films are applied to the interior surface of your windows by our expertly trained technicians. Certain triple-pane windows and/or difficult-to-reach areas may require us to install the film on the exterior of the glass.

How long will my window film last?

Window Film life span varies per type of glass, window construction, and other factors. Some have been known to last over 25 years. Our technicians can give you a better estimate of the life expectancy of your film depending on the application. Professionally installed window film comes with a lifetime warranty against cracking, peeling, adhesive failure, or demetallization.

Why do you need window film on your windows?

Window film helps combat the problems of fading, glare, and damage to furniture. Most importantly, it helps make occupants feel more comfortable in the room. Other applications help with needed privacy, heat rejection, and increased energy efficiency.

Why is window film necessary if other window treatments are on the windows?

The sun will often damage window treatments such as draperies, curtains, blinds, and shades. Window film helps protect furnishings, including window treatments from premature fading.

Will window film darken the interior of my home?

Window film will maintain the natural colors of your interior spaces. With less need for draperies, curtains, blinds, and shades, rooms may actually brighten significantly. Some applications with help to reduce unwanted sunlight.

Does window film help reduce the heat in a room when the sun comes shining through?

Window film can reduce up to 80% of the heat produced by solar energy. You will never have to worry about having too many windows in your home or office.

Can window film help reduce the glare on my television and computer screens?

Window film reduces glare and helps eliminate eye fatigue from too much reflection.

What happens when a window breaks?

If the window breaks, the window film should hold the glass in place, thus reducing the incidence of injury or damage to furnishings.

Can window film be installed on odd-shaped windows?

Window film is professionally installed and can fit virtually any size or shape of flat-glass windows. We can customize any shape needed.

How do I clean my window film?

Window films can be cleaned just like any regular window. To prevent damage, be sure to use a soft clean cloth or sponge with cleaners that do not contain abrasive materials.
